Job Title: Odoo Accounting Consultant
Location: Remote (Preference for Los Angeles Area)
Contract: Full-Time Contract
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing organization that is undergoing a significant business transformation following a recent acquisition. As part of this initiative, the company is implementing Odoo and is seeking an experienced Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a key role in the implementation.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong accounting background who has been directly involved in an Odoo implementation and enjoys working closely with finance teams to design, validate, and optimize accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Accounting SME throughout the Odoo implementation.
- Partner closely with the Controller, finance leadership, and implementation team to ensure accounting processes are successfully translated into Odoo.
- Review existing financial workflows and recommend best practices for the new ERP environment.
- Support the design, configuration, testing, and validation of accounting processes within Odoo.
- Work across key functional areas including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Bank Reconciliation
- Fixed Assets
- Month-End Close
- Financial Reporting
- Assist with data validation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), issue resolution, and go-live readiness.
- Help train and support finance users throughout the implementation.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and improve financial processes as part of the broader ERP transformation.
Required Experience
- Strong accounting or finance background with hands-on experience in an Odoo ERP implementation.
- Experience working closely with finance teams during ERP implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Financial Reporting
- Month-End Close
- Internal Controls
- Ability to bridge the gap between business users and the implementation team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Location
The role is primarily remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Los Angeles area who are available for occasional onsite collaboration with the finance team.
